Parent University

Parent University is a community collaborative formed to help parents become full partners in their children education. Mitchell County House of Hope will partner with community agencies and organizations to offer free courses, family events and activities that will equip families with new or additional skills, knowledge and resources while building confidence in themselves and those within the community charged with the welfare of their children.

This initiative encourages parent involvement and participation in the education of all children within the community. The objectives are to:


  • Maximize student learning by creating a strong bridge between the community and the school
  • Enable parents/guardians to support and assist each other in the education of their children
  • Train informed parents to work together with schools to create paths for student success
  • Provide support, guidance and nurturing to assure the realization of family success and
  • Graduate successful students who are prepared for productive living emotionally, socially and communally.



Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Parent University is now offering online classes. Please contact Ms. Shirley Daniels at shirley_daniels@mitchell.k12.ga.us for more information on scheduled classes.
